Hey Everyone!

I know I’ve been quiet lately, I have taken a few outfit photoshoots, and they have been waiting patiently on my laptop to be edited and uploaded. I’ve been so hectic busy lately, and sometimes I just want to cry because I don’t know if I’m coming or going haha! So I had some spare time now and decided to upload a post for you guys!!

So many of you may/may not know that close to the end of last year I went overseas to Hong Kong. It was an amazing trip! The only disappointing aspect was the lack of shopping I did, and not by choice. Either the selections were very limited in terms of style or the exchange rate just totally did me over! (it wasn’t as cheap as we all had expected!) I expected to come back with a bag full of clothes and shoes but much to my dismay, it just wasn’t the case! We discovered that sneakers back in South Africa was MUCH cheaper than it was there, so alas, the minute I got back on home soil I went crazy buying every Nike sneakers I came across…all were good choices of course!

So obviously I had to do a post on these beauties! My black and white Nike Roshe Ones. They’ve become a staple in my wardrobe lately when I want to dress down but still look chic. They are perfect for those days when I need to run some errands or when I just don’t feel like getting dressed up but I still want to look like I have put some effort into my look.

I also gave a bold red lip a try. I’ve had this lipstick for forever but I didn’t have the guts to pull it off. But I think it actually came together quite nicely and gave the outfit that final chic look!

The Perfect Shift Dress.

Shift Dress & Heels - Woolworths | Handbag & Watch - Michael Kors |
Sunglasses - River Island | Hat – Factorie

It’s been a very long time since I have posted on my blog. There’s no real reason for this and I cannot really put the blame on anybody except for myself. I didn’t feel all that empowered anymore, or that my posts or content were good enough. I kept comparing myself tot others and that was my downfall. I lost the inspiration and drive because I didn’t feel good enough. I felt inferior to others and not because they made me feel that way but because I let myself fell that way. The truth is everybody’s path or success will be different, no two people will progress the same way because we each grow in our own separate ways.  Sometimes we can be our own worst enemies and I have had to learn that the only person that can stop oneself from greatness is oneself. We are the only ones that can allow ourselves to feel certain things, and if you choose to let things affect you in that way, then you would be doing yourself a disfavour. Give yourself credit from time to time. You are allowed to. There is nothing wrong with that.

Anyways, enough babbling and onto today’s outfit.
I have actually been looking for a shift dress for a while. And when I say “a while” I mean a good year or two. I just could never find one that would flatter my body or sit right on me. They all looked like potatoe sacks on me! That is until Woolworths got these beautiful pieces in stock! They sit perfectly on my body. The cut is just right that it flatters all the correct parts and the best part is that it doesn’t look like a huge, baggy potatoe sack on me and it’s totally inexpensive!

I really love the pattern on this one and the fact that it is a classy, sophisticated and stylish piece. It’s such an easy outfit for when you are in a hurry and don’t have a lot of time to still plan what to wear. Just grab this piece and throw it on. Because of the busy pattern I didn’t really accessorize it with anything. Minimal is best with something so busy. Just pair it with a pair of heels (I matched it with a navy pair which actually is visible in the pattern. This just ties the outfit together, however, if you don’t have a navy pair, a nude or tan pair would go just fine.) and you’re good to go! An easy chic outfit without the fuss!
